  • Ability to cooperate and work well with internal/external customers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, to write, and to speak foreign language.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Polish or sign language skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years experience in a clinical professional setting.
  • 3 years providing interpreter services in a professional setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • 3 years of direct customer service, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Medical interpretation certification.
  • Interpreter’s Certification
  • ASL Licensing if appropriate 

Job Description:  To create a first point of contact with IMMC's patients, families, and guests that improve the patient experience at the medical center. To enhance IMMC's patient satisfaction by providing clinical interpretation and by working with the managers and nursing care staff in defined departments to improve the experience.


  1. Actively and proactively engages with patients, families, visitors, guests, and associates in order to achieve excellent service levels and processes, compliance with all regulatory agencies, and the achievement of Advocate and IMMC patient satisfaction goals and targets.
  2. Manages systems for tracking and monitoring aptient and customser satisfiers and dissatisfiers, and identifeis and shares trends to ultimately improve overall levels of high patient and customer satisfaction.
  3. Provides interpretation services to staff, patients and visitors. Actively enhances Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center's patient satisfaction initiatives.
