U.S. News and World Report looked at over 6,000 U.S. hospitals in determining the rankings. 2004 marks the sixth straight year in which Florida Hospital has made the list.
Florida Hospital is today a "giant" in the medical field. And yet, it came from such humble beginnings which go back to 1908. Back then, Seventh Day Adventist leaders, with only $4.83 in their account, made a commitment to spend $9,000 and buy the Dr. Harris Sanitarium and Hotel Company. From that start, Florida Hospital evolved into what is today a billion-dollar network of hospitals and clinics in the Central Florida region.
