Corpus Christi Medical Center has three different campuses that provide medical care to the folks of Corpus Christi (and surrounding towns and cities). Those three campuses are: Bay Area, Doctors Regional, and The Heart Hospital. Founded in 1962, as a 26-bed hospital, Corpus Christi Medical Center has, as you can see, grown considerably in its 41+ years of existence.

Bay Area Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 494-bed facility. Last year the hospital had 31,000 ER visits, performed over 14,000 surgeries, and delivered over 3500 babies. Bay Area has a medical staff of 593. Among the features of Bay Area are: 24 hour Emergency Room, Neonatal ICU, The Breast Center of South Texas, Corpus Christi Cancer Center, Corpus Christi Bay Area Surgery (an ambulatory surgery center).

Doctors Regional is home to a Level III neonatal ICU. Also, Doctors Regional specializes in the neurosciences. Other features at this campus are: MRI Diagnostic Center, Diabetes Center, and the Women's Pavilion.

The Heart Hospital opened in January of 1998. This campus of Corpus Christi Medical Center features the latest in cardiac care technology. There are 72 coronary care beds at The Heart Hospital. In a recent Gallup survey, The Heart Hospital ranked #1 in patient satisfaction, out of all the HCA Hospitals across the United States.

Recently, Solucient ranked Corpus Christi Medical Center one of the top 100 Hospitals in the nation. The findings were published in Modern Healthcare magazine. Corpus Christi Medical Center was the only Corpus Christi hospital on the top 100 list, and was only one of two Texas hospitals on the list. Four areas are judged when determining which hospitals make the list. Those areas are: quality of care, adaptation to environment, financial performance, and operational performance.

If you are a nurse looking for work...maybe you've just graduated or maybe you just want to continue a nursing career...Corpus Christi Medical Center does have some current openings.
