BHMC-LR is the largest institution under the Baptist Health banner. It is one of the region's leaders in cardiac care and heart transplantation. BHMC-LR was the first hospital in the state, to implant the Heart Mate device in a patient suffering from congestive heart failure. This device allows those folks suffering from congestive heart failure, the opportunity to leave the hospital, and stay at home, while awaiting a heart transplant.

Also, for the third year in a row, Baptist Health Medical Center of Little Rock was voted "The Best Place to Have a Baby", in a survey of Little Rock area residents.
