Sacred Heart Medical Center: Helping the Poor!

Nursing Jobs By State

Sacred Heart Medical Center is the largest hospital in the northwestern region with 623 licensed beds, more than 4,000 healthcare professionals, 800 specialists and 400 volunteers. All the care, treatments and services offered at Sacred Heart Medical Center rely on a dedicated staff and the latest technological advances within the healthcare industry. They have created a whole network of assistance and help with other hospitals and health centers in order to take advantage of their different experiences, and in this way, offer a better service, both efficiently and economically.

The story of Sacred Heart Medical Center began in 1856 when 5 Sisters of Providence moved from Montreal to Vancouver, Canada in order to meet the needs of the most vulnerable and poor people. They worked very hard to help those who were in higher risk. As a result, the 5 Sisters established social service, educational, and healthcare ministries to assist people from the coastal and northwestern regions of Canada and The United States. As an organization established by the Sisters of Providence, Sacred Heart Medical Center bases all their actions and efforts in the words of the one who inspires them, Jesus.

They are a group of professionals committed to delivering health care services that meet spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. Sacred Heart Medical Center is a group that aims to deliver the best service possible, especially for those who are vulnerable or poor. This center has based their work on main values: concern, care, compassion and respect for each individual's dignity and the poor, quality care, and teamwork. Their procedures are supported by the latest technological advances. For instance, they have a mechanical pump that is inserted in the chest for the heart to recover.
