Whitman Hospital and Medical Center

Nursing Jobs By State

With 112 years of service, Whitman Hospital and Medical Center is the first hospital created in Whitman County community. Over the course of a century, what began as a tiny space serviced by 3 Sisters of Charity, has grown into a 25-bed critical access hospital with a staff of 50 doctors and 3 nurse practitioners. The current facility was opened in 1968 and is part of a 1,200 square mile hospital district that includes Lacrosse, Endicott, St. John, Steptoe and Colfax. Located in Colfax, WA, the hospital is licensed by the State of Washington, as well as certified as a Medicare/Medicaid and Labor & Industries provider. Respect, compassion, concern, teamwork, responsiveness and reliability are core values for this organization.

Whitman Hospital and Medical Center offers an impressive range of services, such as emergency department, community education classes, surgery, allergy clinic, obstetrics, podiatry, rehabilitation services, home health and hospice, cardiology, dietary department, gastroenterology, oncology/chemotherapy, orthopedics, optometry, ophthalmology and social services. Additionally, outpatient programs for Radiology and Laboratory services as well as outpatient surgery (for minor procedures such as tonsillectomy, hernia repair, etc).

While all this information may sound enticing for someone looking for a job in nursing, a word of caution is necessary here: remember that we are talking about a small hospital, therefore, the availability of job openings is rather slim. However, at the time of this writing, a few positions are open. You can apply online, but be warned: the information displayed on the website about the characteristics of the position is insufficient (no salary/benefits information).
