West Seattle Psychiatric Hospital

Nursing Jobs By State

West Seattle Psychiatric Hospital is a private non-profit organization committed to helping its patients to live full, productive lives and to make a contribution to their communities, regardless of their emotional or mental disorders. One of the largest mental health centers in King County, it was created in 1968 as a result of the Federal Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963, but it wasn't until 1974 that the center earned federal support through the National Institute of Mental Health. Over the course of the years, having weathered drastic budget cuts and many other obstacles, the center continued to provide high quality services, fully certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

The services of West Seattle Psychiatric Hospital are essentially divided in three major areas: Child and Family Services (offering individual and group therapy, after hour crisis intervention and school-based therapeutic services, etc), Adult Services (including counseling, psychiatric services, case management, crisis stabilization services, group services, vocational services, domestic violence treatment and expanding community services program) and OASIS (aimed to give proper treatment to seniors citizens).

As of this time, West Seattle Psychiatric Hospital employs a staff of about 300 people from the most diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, constituting a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, internists, nurses and therapists. If you are looking for a job in nursing, you should know that a handful of positions are available. Unfortunately, the information displayed is rather sketchy, so you won't have a lot of it before you apply, either via e-mail or fax.
