Victory Memorial Hospital

Nursing Jobs By State

In the southwest section of Brooklyn lies Victory Memorial Hospital, a  254 bed, not-for-profit voluntary health care center that provides primary care, ambulance services, emergency room care, acute care, long term care and specialized services, but also preventative care through health screenings and health educational sessions. If you've had the chance to visit other hospital's web pages, you will immediately notice the fact that the design of the page in rather modest, especially by the standards of big medical facilities. This can give you an idea of the resources that the organization has.

For a relatively humble facility, Victory Memorial Hospital actually has a broad spectrum of services to offer: emergencies, general medicine, nuclear medicine, blood bank, cardiology, acupuncture, cryosurgery, dermatology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, pharmacy, chemotherapy, obstetrics, gynecology, urology, radiology, psychiatry, vascular surgery, neonatology and pastoral care, to name a few.

For those of you out there looking for a job in nursing, you might be interested to know that Victory Memorial Hospital is also a Skilled Nursing Center, which means that 150 beds are actually devoted to the nursing unit. The center is only 20 minutes away from NYC, close to public transportation, shops, restaurants and historic Ft. Hamilton. As stated before, the resources of the center, or at least those of the website, seem fairly limited: there is not a full list of the positions available, and while there is a mention to the immediate need for registered nurses for the emergency room, critical care and other areas, there is no additional information about the conditions of the job. One more warning: you cannot apply by internet.
