Saint Louise Regional Hospital was founded in 1989 by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. Since 1999 the hospital is located in Gilroy and there it offers its services to the communities of southern Santa Clara and San Benito. The mission of the hospital is to serve the sick and the poor with comprehensive, excellent healthcare and attentive remedies to heal body, mind and spirit.

People do not have to travel long distances to have an exceptional health care, the Saint Louise Regional Hospital offers services in the specialties of emergencies (which has a CALSTAR emergency helicopter), internal medicine, maternity, orthopedics, cardiology, general surgery, neonatology, spinal cord medicine, breast care center and 45 services more. Also the hospital provides education to the community through several health classes and support groups.
