In 1897 the community of Fresno started meeting the benefits of having a medical center near their homes. Nowadays, the Community Medical Center is one of the best medical centers in the Central Valley.
It has a wide range of specialties supported by the most high-tech medical procedures, which allow the patients to have university-level treatment in their community. Some of those services are Asthma Education Management, Burn Center, which is the only burn center between L.A and Sacramento; it has an area of 15,000 square miles and in the last year it realized over 8,000 burn therapy treatments.
Also, the Fertility Service in where couples with fertility difficulties receive the treatment and the emotional support needed; Maternal Child Services, Surgery, Rehabilitation, Weight Loss Surgery and Diabetes Care Center.
In addition, they have a special department in which HIV-positive patients are provided of the kindness and professionalism they require. Here family and friends of HIV/AIDS patients received the support and education about the disease. Adults, youth, children, and pregnant mothers are the patients treated in this center.
Community Medical Centers have more than 1,100 physicians, 900 volunteers and 6,000 employees who are responsible for giving the best healthcare services to the community.
