Medical Center of Mesquite: Continuous Growing Since the Beginning

Nursing Jobs By State

The Medical Center of Mesquite (MCM) opened its doors in 1964, for those times it was a very little hospital that was equipped with 27 beds, 5 bassinets, one delivery room, one operating room and one emergency room only. It was operated by 7 physicians. By 1976 the hospital started to expand when the Charter Medical Corporation acquired it and change its name to Charter Suburban Hospital. The growing continued when they acquired 3 more buildings of the Medical Office Building. Some years later, in 1990, a new organization acquired the hospital, it was the Paracelsus Healthcare Corporation (which later was known as Clarent Hospital Corporation) and changed its name again to Medical Center of Mesquite.

In 1991, they established a complete service Heart Center which includes cardiac cath laboratory, cardiac rehabilitation, open heart surgery, a centralized outpatient diagnostic and surgery area as well as a new emergency department. After that a new cardiac cath laboratory opened and also a nuclear medicine center. By 1994, the MCM acquired a commercial property which is located to the south of the Medical Office Building. Today this place is used for hospital offices and also for physician practices.

Two years later, a new patient building was built, in 1998 a new area was obtained and was transformed into a parking lot with capacity for 100 cars. In 2002, 1 acre of land located to the north of the MCM was acquired and transformed into an emergency department. Since its opening, the MCM has been in continuous growth and also offering excellent health care services to the community of Mesquite, TX. If you or someone that you know needs medical service, do not doubt and go to facilities of the Medical Center of Mesquite.
