Surgical, Generations, Inpatient Rehab, Medical Unit & Surgery Care
This position requires a customer service oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of delivering care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision making is expected in the execution of all duties. May be assigned to be in charge of a unit and able to delegate patient care assignments and duties based on the ability of co-workers. Must strive to maintain the professional standards of nursing which include utilizing the theoretical framework of the nursing process and critical thinking to assess, plan, provide, delegate, supervise, manage and evaluate patient care.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and skills:

1. Must have the ability to guide, coach, teach, counsel, and negotiate.
2. Knowledge of the normal signs of aging and ability to provide age appropriate care.
3. Demonstrates interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff development.
4. Computer keyboard and basic operating knowledge desirable.
5. Knowledge of communication skills with ability to listen both verbally and non-verbally.
6. Skill in interpersonal relationships with emphasis on caring, reaching out, being friendly and showing courtesy.
7. Skill in time management with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
8. Skill in interpersonal, oral, and written communication.
9. Ability to be sensitive and show positive regard for fellow employees, patients and families.
10. Ability to take direction, work efficiently under pressure, set priorities, and use good judgment.
11. Ability to willingly accept responsibility

Education and experience:

1. Should have 2 or more years experience in hospital nursing with satisfactory performance in staff nursing.
2. Must have experience in ED and/or CCU.

Licensure, registration or certification:

1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, have proof of maintenance of current licensure in the state of Kansas.
2. Have current certification in CPR/Basis Life Support and Adv. Cardiac Life Support.
