Founded in 1884, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is generally recognized as one of our nation's top hospitals. In a recent survey of AMERICA'S TOP 50 HOSPITALS, Memorial Sloan-Kettering was ranked 8th overall. The survey was done by the folks at the AARP, and was featured in that organization's Modern Maturity magazine. The rankings were based on these criteria: physician ratings (how doctors rated a particular hospital); surgical mortality rate; medical mortality rate; and accreditation score (score given by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations).

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a 427-bed facility located at 1275 York Avenue, on Manhattan's Upper East Side (between 67th and 68th Streets).
