Family and friends mourned at the loss of Tina Adovasio at her funeral,
while her estranged husband was obviously not around. Former NYPD cop, Edwin Coello, was
apprehended in connection to Adovasio?s death by New York
City police in the Bronx last week
Tuesday.
At 2:30 p.m., Coello was picked up by police last Tuesday at a relative?s
house, according to his counsel Renee Hill.
A representative for the Deputy Commissioner's Office said Second-degree
murder was charged against him that night.
Hill advised Patch she will defend the man, who was presumed to be indicted
in court last Wednesday afternoon. She revealed, as the usual part of formal
procedure he will enter a no guilty plea.
The 40-year-old Adovasio was found dead in a thickly wooded area off the Taconic State Parkway
in Yorktown near Baldwin Road Wednesday night, five days
after she disappeared on March 11.
Police recounted, her husband reported her missing after an argument.
However he was complying with the authorities at first. But after his wife?s corpse
was found he immediately hired two lawyers, rejected to have his car searched and refused
to give a DNA sample. He was named a ?person of interest,? two weeks ago.
According to the District Attorney's Office in the Bronx,
Coello has a history of domestic violence and was apprehended on Feb. 27, 2006
and accused with second-degree harassment against his wife, Tina Adovasio. He
had reportedly been seen carrying a large duffle bag the day after Adovasio's
disappearance, according to law enforcement authorities.
Coello?s presence was banned on Adovasio's wake, funeral, or burial
according to a family member, who wishes not to be identified.
Adovasio, who is a mother of four, resided in the Bronx and worked as a
nurse in the Maternity Department of New Rochelle's Sound Shore Medical Center.
She was survived by four children, her parents, two brothers, cousins,
aunts, and uncles who all came to her funeral last week along with her
ex-husband and her children?s friends.
