Madigan Army Medical Center is one of the busiest hospitals in the Pacific Northwest. The beneficiary population of this hospital exceeds 350,000 within a six-state region. The facility of this hospital is a four-building structure located at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington; it occupies more than 120 acres of land. The 40-mile catchment area of Madigan Army Medical Center has more than 120,000 soldiers, family members and retirees. The staff of this hospital has 3,124 members, including 50 interns, 18 fellows, 166 residents, 627 nurses and 360 doctors. Madigan Army Medical Center also boasts a vigorous Red Cross program. Each month, approximately 300 volunteers donate more than 10,000 hours of free service. This hospital is one of only three designated trauma centers throughout the U.S. MEDCOM.

The services offered at Madigan Army Medical Center include Department of Anesthesia and Operative Services, Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care, Clinical Services, Medical Library, Department of Emergency Medicine, Allergy/Immunology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care, Rheumatology,  Department of Nursing, Maternal/Child Health Nursing, Department of Pathology, Physical Therapy, Department of Pharmacy, Department of Radiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology Service, Urology Service and Vascular Service, among others.
