Seton Medical Center Coastside is a member of the Daughters of Charity Health System, a regional care system of five hospitals and medical centers along the coast of California that provides holistic, spiritually centered care to the sick and needy. Seton Medical Center Coastside was originally founded in 1970; back then it was named the Moss Beach Rehabilitation Hospital. In 1981, the hospital was renamed St. Catherine's Hospital in order to honor St. Catherine Laboure, a Daughter of Charity who dedicated her life to caring for the poor, the underserved and the sick. In 1993, the name St. Catherine's Hospital was changed to Seton Medical Center Coastside.
As you can realize, for over 35 years, Seton Medical Center Coastside has served the Coastside community. The history of the hospital is the testimony of their mission of providing care within a compassionate environment to patients. The services provided by Seton Medical Center Coastside include Spiritual Care Services, Community Outreach, Ancillary Services, a Skilled Nursing Facility and an Emergency Services & Acute Care Unit. Seton Medical Center Coastside and the members of the Community Advisory Committee sponsor programs such as The Sonrisas Community Dental Clinic Partnership Task Force, The Coastside RotaCare Clinic and The Teddy Bear Clinic.
