Dominican Hospital started offering its services to the community in 1941, as Hanley Hospital. It was administrated by the Adrian Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Michigan. Years later, the Sisters purchased the Santa Cruz Hospital on 1967; the fusion of both medical centers became the Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital.
