The 104-bed voluntary, non-profit Boca Raton Community Hospital opens its doors after five years of hard work by local residents and dedicated contributors on July 17, 1967. The idea of building a hospital in the area was conceived after the tragic deaths of two Boca Raton children. While still growing to serve an increasing population, in 1982, it became the largest hospital in southern Palm Beach County. From 1985 to 1995, a home health, The Women?s Center, The Therapy Center, One Family Place, The Pain Management Service and The Center for Breast Care in the Women?s Center are opened in order to better address the needs of the community. Thanks to the help from generous benefactors the hospital is able to continue expanding to provide high quality and cost effective healthcare.
