Enumclaw Community Hospital history started all the way back in 1944, when citizens of Enumclaw, Buckley and Black Diamond formed a committee to work towards the goal of establishing a hospital that would cover the needs of their communities. But it wasn?t until 1949 that their efforts finally paid off, when the 22-bed hospital opened. Over the course of the following decades, the hospital, located in the city of Enumclaw, WA, experienced many expansions, until reaching its current capacity of 38 licensed beds. These expansions continue to this day: a new facility is due to open in late 2007, and by that time, the new hospital will bear the Enumclaw Regional Hospital name. This change, however, will not affect its original nature as a non-profit organization. The hospital is supported by the Enumclaw Regional Hospital Foundation. Currently relying on a staff of over 40 physicians, the hospital received in 2001 the distinction of being named one of the Top 100 performing healthcare facilities in the country.
Enumclaw Community Hospital is the only Level V Trauma Center in King County, and it has many services available, such as Emergency Department, Day Surgery, Radiology (including ultrasound, magnetic resonance, nuclear medicine, neuroradiology), Laboratory, Inpatient Services, GI Lab (to provide high quality diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal services), and others (cardiopulmonary, occupational health, and dietary department).
