In 1962, in the community of Folsom the Mercy Hospital of Folsom was established. It was created to answer to the need of the community of having a medical center able to give medical attention as close as possible. At the beginning, the name of the hospital was Twin Lakes Hospital; however, the hospital were renamed as the Mercy Hospital of Folsom by the Sisters of the Mercy, who acquired it in 1989.
The hospital has been changing and growing in order to answer to the growth and the demand for services of the residents in the area. Some of these improvements include a fourth operating room, two new labor, delivery and recovery rooms, a 10-bed maternal newborn unit and improvements in its rehabilitation and occupational medicine programs. Besides those improvements, the Mercy Hospital of Folsom plans to continue expanding its services, in order to keep providing the community with excellent healthcare in an affordable way.
The Mercy Hospital of Folsom offers the communities of Dorado Hills and the Folsom, with the most complete medical services in Emergency, Cardiac Diagnostic Testing, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Home Health, Neurology, Outpatient Services, Pregnancy and Parenting Education, along with 18 services more. Also the hospital serves the residents of the area by community programs, classes and events, spiritual care services, social accountability and volunteer opportunities.
