Jefferson Hospital was established in 1825, the Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals at the present have 925 accredited critical care beds, with most important programs in an extensive range of health care specialties. Services are provided between four sites features Methodist Hospital, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Center City, which is located in South Philadelphia, and Jefferson HealthCARE. Formerly a division of Thomas Jefferson University, the health center was alienated from the University to become a member of the Jefferson Health System in 1995. The health center extended its services to the citizens with the union of Methodist Health Centers as a Division of Thomas Jefferson University Health Centers in 1996.
