On January 2, 1962, Knapp Medical Center opened its doors as Knapp Memorial Methodist Hospital. In December of 1986, the United Methodist Church and Knapp Memorial Methodist Hospital dissolved their relationship. Today, Knapp Medical Center remains a not-for-profit, private acute care hospital. It currently has 233 private rooms. This hospital is located in Weslasco, Texas, the heart of the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Knapp Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. This hospital serves patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical needs.
