College Hospital Costa Mesa is a JCAHO accredited 122-bed facility that provides high quality medical, surgical and psychiatric care. It is located near the intersection of the 405 and 55 freeways in the city of Costa Mesa, California. Since 1987, College Hospital Costa Mesa has provided a continuum of superior psychiatric healthcare services in a cost-effective manner to meet the needs of patients, community, professional staff and payers. College Hospital Costa Mesa's medical and surgical specialty services complement the tertiary care services of the large medical centers in Orange County.

College Hospital Costa Mesa is one of a select group of JCAHO Accredited hospitals that offers a combination of acute medical/surgical and acute psychiatric services. The hospital accepts patients 18 years of age and older. Though, patients 12-18 years of age may be accepted for (medical) detoxification. There is a 24-hour available house physician on duty. Also, upon request, transportation service will be available for patients. Staffing ratio provides individual attention for patients within an intimate setting of a 10-bed Outpatient unit, 37-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit and a 4-bed Intensive Care Unit. Nurses are ACLS Certified and cross-trained for patients who are medically and psychiatrically decompensate.

Adults over 18 years of age who require acute inpatient stabilization of their psychiatric disorder and critical impairments would benefit from the Adult Psychiatric Services offered at College Hospital Costa Mesa. Three separate levels of adult programming allow patients to enter treatment at appropriate treatment intensity and facilitate transition to higher functioning modalities. Each level is based on a crisis intervention model to stabilize the patient's condition and transition to a less restrictive environment.

On the other hand, the Adolescent Program emphasizes on comprehensive assessment and rapid stabilization. Featuring Multi-family groups held twice weekly led by a licensed clinician to help the family understand the patient's needs. A 17 bed locked unit provides behavioral interventions to reinforce patient progress toward treatment goals. Interdisciplinary treatment planning and therapeutic intervention assures all aspects of the patient's disorder are addressed.
