University of Texas Health Center at Tyler: Serving the East Region of Texas and Surroundings

Nursing Jobs By State

In 1977, the State Senate Bill was passed and became a pointer piece of the legislation for the East region of Texas. Through it, the Health Center became a member of the University of Texas System and that bill also offered the permission to the Health Center to acquire their actual threefold mission of quality and excellent patient care and community health, complete education as well as innovative investigation. Nowadays, the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler (UTHCT) is composed by more than 20 outpatient clinics, an emergency care center and a hospital. The system provides its services to over 138,500 outpatient visits and over 3,700 inpatient admissions per year.

The history of the UTHCT began during the World War II when the place was used as an infantry training center. It was known with the name of Camp Fannin, which prepared more than 100,000 men a year for combat. The mission of this health system is "to serve the East region of Texas and beyond through quality and excellent patient care and community health, complete education and innovative investigation". The vision of the UTHCT is to keep growing to be a big institution unified in one common purpose which is to improve the quality of life of their patients as well as benefit the human health.

The staff of the facilities of this health system bases their operation and daily tasks under the values of excellence, diversity, respect, servant leadership, and responsible accountability. If you are resident of the East region of Texas or surroundings and need the services of a great health system, attend to the facilities of the University of Texas Health Center.
