In 1976 in the community of Fort Bragg California the Mendocino Coast District Hospital (MCDH) was created as an answer to the need of the community of having a hospital near their homes. The MCDH is a 49 bed acute care facility; it offers programs and services in emergency, occupational therapy, neurophysiology, obstetrics, nutrition, inpatient and outpatient surgical services, that includes two operating rooms in which are realized gynecological and general surgery via laparoscope, such as advanced and orthopedic procedures via arthroscope; the ambulatory services allow the patients to have a surgery and go back home the same day; and hospice program. Another service is cardiology, which has a fully equipped cardiac stress lab and specialized echocardiography for non invasive cardiac evaluation), as well as twelve services more. All the services are supported by the latest technology and the attentions of its team of professionals.
