Plaza Specialty Hospital

Nursing Jobs By State

Plaza Specialty Hospital is an acute long-term hospital founded in 1994 with just 16 beds. Today Plaza Specialty Hospital has grown in to a 65-bed acute long-term hospital providing continuum of care to patients from the Texas Medical Center and beyond the Houston metropolitan area, as well as, Texas and surrounding states. Located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the North Building within Park Plaza Hospital it is a hospital within a hospital. This fact affords advantages of a short-term major acute care hospital yet allows the benefits of a smaller, more individualized hospital setting. Plaza Specialty Hospital helps to bridge the gap in the healthcare continuum by providing a level of cost-effective acute long-term care that addresses the treatment plans and goals of the patient. The medical staff includes a comprehensive array of primary care physicians and specialists. Specialty Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and accepts Medicare, private insurance and managed care policies.

Plaza Specialty Hospital offers a comprehensive range of health services and medical programs designed to meet a wide spectrum of health care needs. Plaza Specialty Hospital is committed to giving the highest quality of service and caring to customers. The Medical Complex Care Program is for those patients who need acute hospitalization for an extended period of time, with intensive specialized therapies and nursing care (for those who have a catastrophic injury or illness, multi-system problems, require cardiac monitoring, require intravenous nutritional support, and/or long-term antibiotic therapies). The Rehabilitation Program consists of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology. Providing quality patient care to those experiencing problems with mobility, self care, and/or communications, the staff is made up of specially trained therapists and nurses that have advanced equipment at their disposal. The Pulmonary Program is designed to provide specialized care for patients with acute or chronic respiratory disorders by a multidisciplinary team of physicians and support staff.
