Goodall-Witcher Healthcare Foundation

Nursing Jobs By State

The Goodall-Witcher Healthcare Foundation started in July, 1966, as a non-profit corporation for the purpose of owning and operating a non-profit hospital, ancillary facilities and related healthcare services for the public good. The Goodall-Witcher Healthcare Foundation and all of its entities are Medicare-approved and are licensed in Texas. The Foundation recognizes the charitable purpose under which it was organized and fulfills its mission in a charitable manner, not only in the area of direct patient care, but also in areas of public service such as nursing education, public education and emergency medical services.

In 1939, Dr. Van Goodall and Dr. Seth Witcher fulfilled their dream of providing the citizens of the area with the best health care in the most modern facilities available by opening a medical clinic and 10-bed hospital. Through the years the dream and the facility grew. The hospital was updated with the latest medical technology and more doctors and staff were added to expanded services. In 1966, that facility was turned over to a governing Board of Trustees charged with administering the newly formed private, not-for-profit Goodall-Witcher Hospital Foundation. A new hospital was built and the clinic was moved to the present location in 1972.

Goodall-Witcher Hospital offers an extensive variety of health care services like: Rehab services (which include Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapy) that offers treatment for injury, disability or physical defect through the use of exercise, heat, massage, and other external means. The Laboratory Department, approved by Medicare and under the direction of a board certified pathologist, offers tests in the areas of chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, coagulation, microbiology, immunology, and blood gases. Respiratory Therapy Services feature highly-specialized equipment such as pulmonary function unit, a blood gas unit, pulse-oximeter, ultra-sonic nebulizers and a volume ventilator (ICU).
