Cook Children's Medical Center

Nursing Jobs By State

Fort Worth Children's Hospital and Cook Children's Hospital united in 1985, and Cook Children's Medical Center was born. Regional leaders had a vision of this merger since the 1950's and the new center began in 1989 as a comprehension of their objective.

The previous Fort Worth Children's Hospital started with the association of the Fort Worth Free Baby Hospital in 1918, under the management of Mrs. Ida L. Turner, an earlier postmistress. The hospital was first situated at 2400 Winton Terrace West, close to the current property of Texas Christian University. In 1922, a second floor was built for the structure since all of the furniture and building materials were donated. In 1961, under the Woman's Board of the Fort Worth Children's Hospital and the management of Mrs. Nenetta Burton Carter, a new center was finished at 1400 Cooper Street, near to the Harris Methodist Hospital. This center continued to work autonomously until the beginning of 1985.

Cook Children's Medical Center improves the health of kids as its main purpose. It offers superiority healthcare to kids through an integrated program which oversees a variety of services ranging from simple precautionary monitoring at pediatrician's agencies to extremely specialized health-based serious care centers. Many of its residents receive care in outpatient surroundings and throughout its Home Health services.
