Sierra Providence Health Network (SPHN) brings together advanced technology and services in caring for the communities it serves. Our system includes three hospitals: two acute care hospitals, Sierra Medical Center and Providence Memorial Hospital, and a physical rehabilitation hospital, Sierra Providence Physical Rehabilitation Hospital, which is equipped to handle brain injuries and other serious disorders; and several other satellite facilities throughout the El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico communities. The Network is a member of the Tenet Health System and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Opened in 1976, Sierra Medical Center is a 365-bed acute care hospital, located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Sierra Medical Center provides advanced health care services not only to El Paso, but to the outlying communities of west Texas, southern New Mexico and to our international neighbors in northern Mexico. Sierra Medical Center has a wide array of specialties including: Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery services for critically-ill or premature babies. Advanced cardiac care including balloon angioplasty, open heart surgery, coronary stent placement and coronary by-pass surgery. The Kidney Transplant Clinic is the only Medicare and UNOS (United Network of Organ Sharing) facility in El Paso. The Gamma Knife Radiosurgery is a non-invasive surgical procedure that is used to treat brain tumors and other intracranial malformations.
Opened in 1988, Sierra Providence Physical Rehabilitation Hospital is a 76-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, overlooking the city of El Paso, Texas. It is the regional center for physical rehabilitation for the residents of west Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Mexico and is one of the few bilingual rehabilitation programs available nationwide in a bicultural environment. Sierra Providence's specialists are dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment in a compassionate and caring atmosphere offering: a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, advanced technology, case evaluation and diagnostic testing, individualized treatment plans, periodic evaluations and psychological counseling services.
