Howard Young Medical Center is a 109-bed acute care facility located in 240 Maple Street, Woodruff, Wisconsin whose specially trained medical and technical staff is committed to caring for the health and wellness of the people of the community. The health care facilities of Howard Young Medical Center provide complete surgical services, a full range of laboratory and radiology services, obstetrical services, inpatient and intensive care, cardiovascular pulmonary rehabilitation services, emergency care, physical medicine and rehabilitation, mental health, occupational health services, AODA, hemodialysis, diabetes management, and inpatient and day surgery.
Howard Young Medical Center was founded in 1977, thanks to the generous contribution of S. Howard Jones, a New York art dealer and uncle of actress Elizabeth Taylor. The hospital opened its door in February, 1977, and was named as a top 100 Orthopedic Hospital by Health Care Information Association in 1999. Today, it has the most advanced surgery suite in Northern Wisconsin; private, comfortable, outpatient and inpatient accommodations with private restroom facilities; immediate access to modern intensive care units; compassionate, caring, and exceptional surgical service; 24-hour anesthesia coverage; and health care all day long the seven days of the week.
