El Paso's Thomason Hospital

Nursing Jobs By State

El Paso's Thomason Hospital is the only community-owned, not-for-profit hospital and health care system in El Paso, Texas. Located at 4815 Alameda, El Paso, TX, Thomason Hospital also serves as a regional referral center for patients needing specialty care and is considered one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States.

El Paso's Thomason Hospital was originally founded in 1915 as a two-story adobe building located in the area where Asarco is currently. However, one year later, the hospital was relocated to 4815 Alameda when the people of the community decided to build a new hospital. At that time, the hospital was called El Paso General. Later, in 1950, the residents of the area voted to create the El Paso County Hospital District, so that quality health services would be available for the community and especially for the most needed. Thomason Hospital was created, and it was named after the city's former Mayor, Federal Judge and Congressman Mr. Robert Ewing Thomason.

Serving all who need help, regardless of their ability to pay, El Paso's Thomason Hospital follows and respects the community. It maintains a high involvement with the people and organizations of El Paso and serves others always striving to meet and exceed all expectations.
