Long Island Jewish Medical Center is a non-profit care teaching hospital with a campus of 48 acres and 827 beds that is part of North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Long Island Jewish Medical Center, at the same time, is composed of three more organizations: Long Island Jewish Hospital, The Zucker Hillside Hospital and Schneider Children's Hospital. The purpose of Long Island Jewish Medical Center is to offer the best service to meet their patients' surgical and medical needs.

The services offered by Long Island Jewish Medical Center include Anesthesiology, Cardiac Services, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology & Communicative Disorders, Pathology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Social Work, Urology, and Volunteer Services. Long Island Jewish Hospital is a tertiary health care hospital equipped with 452 beds and the most advance technology for the diagnostic and treatment of diseases.

On the other hand, The Zucker Hillside Hospital is a psychiatric facility with 223 beds, athletic facilities, inpatient services with specific units for schizophrenia, geriatrics, adolescents, children, psychiatry and affective disorders. Among the special features of this center, some of the most noticeable are: 1. being the pioneer in diagnosis, treatment and research of mental illness, 2. having a Clinical Research Center for the Study of Schizophrenia of National Institute of Mental Health, and 3. having a Center for Neuropsychiatric Outcomes and Rehabilitation for chemical abusers.

Finally, Schneider Children's Hospital is a teaching hospital that aims to provide children with a comprehensive care. The hospital is a 154-bed facility organized in different units, each one with its own social worker and nursing staff and playrooms. Childhood diseases, epilepsy and cancer are treated at Schneider Children's Hospital. A lot of research on hyperactivity, eating disorders, congenital malformations, depression, and cancer has been conducted.
