Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth is the largest hospital between Houston and Baton Rouge with a 461-bed health care facility located in Beaumont, Texas. In 2004, the Christus Outpatient Pavilion was completed as a 260,000 square-foot facility providing a great diversity of services for the community. W. P. Hebert Health and Wellness Center, also include in the campus, comprises a 65,000-square-foot technologically advanced fitness center, a Minor Care Center, and many medical office buildings. Adjacent to the main hospital building, The Mamie McFaddin Ward Cancer Treatment Center is the only facility in Jefferson County accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program. Adhering to its community health mission, Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth provides access to health education, primary care, tertiary care, urgent care, rehabilitation and emergency/trauma services.
The hospital is recognized as the regional leader in outpatient services, cardiology, neonatal care, cardiac rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging. The hospital?s Cancer Services features a level of expertise and service that is comparable to cancer centers in larger cities. The Neuro Science department at Christus St. Elizabeth hospital is a 20-bed unit that offers a wide range of services for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with disorders affecting the nervous system. Women?s Services at Christus Hospital takes account of family-centered care for expectant mothers as well as specialty care for woman of all ages.
Additionally, the emergency department on the St. Elizabeth campus is designated as a Level III Trauma Center. The facility leadership recognizes the importance of the Emergency Department experience and its impact on the Inpatient customer satisfaction score. The facility has two bed meetings daily to ensure that patients are moved through the system expeditiously. A SWAT Nurse is now available during high admissions times to assist with the admission process from the Emergency Department to an Inpatient unit.
