Providence Healthcare Network is a health care system that consists of Providence Health Care Center, Providence Home Care, De Paul Center, Providence Clinics, the Providence Foundation, Providence Health Alliance, and the new Providence Park. Providence Healthcare Network provides a wide range of health care services, including inpatient care, emergency services, outpatient care, mental health care, long-term care, chemical dependency treatment, woman's care, children's care, and senior adult care services, among others.

Providence Healthcare Network is a member of Ascension Health, a national system sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Nazareth, Michigan, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondolet. Providence was originally founded by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, who have a long and exemplary history of service to society.

Founded in 1905, at the request of a businessman who realized the need for a hospital in Waco, Providence Health Center was Waco's first and newest hospital. The Daughters of Charity received the businessman and agreed to support the idea. This way, with the sponsorship of the businessman Providence Health Center was born, officially opening its doors in 1905. In 1989, Providence Health Center was transferred to the site it is located today.
