The Catholic Health System (CHS) was founded in 1998 under the supervision of several religious sponsors. The CHS offers its services to the residents of the western region of New York through a network of 4 hospitals, nine diagnostic and treatment centers, eleven long term care facilities, ten primary care centers, a free standing surgery center, home care agencies, adult homes, social service, behavioral health plans and counseling services.
Those facilities are operated by 1,200 physicians and are supported by approximately 8,000 dedicated employees. The CHS is one of the two biggest suppliers of health care services of the western region of NY. Its facilities are recognized by the excellent service in each of their health cares such as cardiology, cancer and women services as well as rehabilitative services. It is also the leading supplier of maternity services and care to the elderly in the same zone.
