Children's Medical Center Dallas is a private, not-for-profit institution founded in 1913. It is the Southwest?s leading healthcare facility that deals exclusively with a variety of diseases and disorders among children from birth to age eighteen. The center is licensed for 406 beds, including a 52-bed pediatric intensive care (being only pediatric hospital in Texas and one of only 14 in the nation to be designated a Level 1 Trauma Center). The hospital also has more than 50 outpatient clinics and a state-of-the-art emergency center designed specifically for children. Children's features one of the nation's largest pediatric intensive care units with 84 licensed beds.
