Brooke Army Medical Center is an advanced, innovative, 450-bed health care center that offers level I trauma and graduate medical education. The first and main structure in the medical complex of Brooke Army Medical Center is a multi-storied medical treatment building whose operational area is approximately 1.5 million square feet and has a normal bed capacity of 450 (48 of which are ICU beds and 40 are dedicated to the Institute of Surgical Research Burn Unit). If necessary, Brooke Army Medical Center could expand to 653 beds, giving access and service to the needed in a natural disaster or a wartime mobilization.
Brooke Army Medical Center has a convenient patient and visitor parking available. It can hold more than 3,300 cars and extends surrounding the facilities. Most of the parking spaces are located near the entrance to the Clinic Building due to the fact that Brooke Army Medical Center clinics support more than 640,000 outpatient visits each year. Vehicle parking areas for staff are designated and to use them a registration sticker is required.
