Catholic Health Initiatives: A Legacy of Care!

Nursing Jobs By State

Ten years ago, in 1996, the love of neighbor and the love of Christ plus the commitment to help those who are in trouble gave birth to Catholic Health Initiatives. Based in Colorado, this company is a non-profit organization that aims to provide patients or residents with compassionate care for individuals seeing as a whole including care for the body, spirit and mind. To do it so, they have a system which includes 44 facilities, 70 hospitals, and 5 health organizations distributed in 19 states all across the United States, being the second biggest national Catholic health systems.

Social justice, clinical quality and strong health communities are the principles in which Catholic Health Initiatives base their philosophy and that lead their actions. They are committed to enhancing the healing ministry in developing and current organizations, providing responses to the healthcare industry challenges, promoting and integrated development or growth within the entire organization, member companies, patients and their families, creating a national catholic consensus that supports the vision of the company: to transform the healthcare is delivered by giving it a sense of solidarity within the communities they are based in.

Today, Catholic Health Initiatives have their facilities, hospitals and other health centers distributed in Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon, Tennessee, Washington and 17 more states, which include 68 rural and urban communities. The facilities encompass critical access, acute care and specialty hospitals; assisted living, long-term care and residential facilities, and Community health services organizations. Regarding communities, they also grant money to some local institutions in order to improve the health in the communities. In fact, they have a special strategy to deal with the needs of each community, which is called market-based organizations or MBOs. However, they take advantage of the experiences in other communities to enhance their service every day.
