NorthBay Healthcare is a non-profit, community organization based in upper Solano County. Community leaders from Fairfield and Vacaville initiated a fund drive to build a non-profit hospital. In 1960 Intercommunity Memorial Hospital opened (now NorthBay Medical Center) preceded by VacaValley Hospital opened in 1987. NorthBay Healthcare grew (and continues to grow) in both size and sophistication and became known for the quality of the health care delivered as well as for including several services that are not offered by other health care organizations in the region.
NorthBay Medical Center delivers more than 1,500 babies per year and has the most sophisticated services for premature or ill newborns within 50 miles. Its state-of-the-art Radiation Oncology Department is supported by technology as modern as systems found at Stanford and other university hospital settings. For almost 50 years, the hospital has been offering a wide range of hospital and community services not available on other health care providers in the region. From emergency care to surgery and specialty services like cancer care and high-risk maternity services are provided at NorthBay.
NorthBay Healthcare enjoys one of the highest employee retention rates in the industry offering a unique combination of family atmosphere, competitive wages and benefits to its employees. Being a not-for-profit organization, they are able to use the revenue to update medical equipment and services instead of paying shareholders.
