Hospital Corporation of America's story dates back from the 60's when Dr. Thomas Frist, Dr. Thomas Frist, Jr. and Jack C. Massey funded the Hospital Corporation of America commonly known today as HCA. The commitment to improving the quality of their service and the profitability of the business led them to acquire more hospitals and other facilities to enhance the quality of service they offer in the communities. The following decade was characterized by a rapid growth. Just as an example, by the end of 1969, they had 26 hospitals and 3,000 beds.
Currently, HCA is located in Tennessee and is still the leading company in providing healthcare services in the United States. However, they have reached other latitudes such as Switzerland and England. HCA encompasses 191 hospitals and 82 outpatient surgery centers distributed in 23 states. What better defines HCA is their commitment to human life, not only its care but also its improvement, and their efforts to make this a reality. In HCA, you will find a company which gives you the highest quality and least costly healthcare. All the residents will be treated honestly, kindly, respectfully and always with dignity and integrity by a group of professionals specialized in healthcare.
Hospital Corporation of America's mission is to contribute, at some extent, with the communities in which they are located. Different programs such as the community giving program and the volunteering program are part of the ways in which this organization support their mission to have healthy and strong communities. Some of the activities organized or sponsored by Hospital Corporation of America are charity events, walk-a-thons and health screenings, among others. They also have projects such as HCA's Community Day, Caring for the Community, Salvation Army Angel Tree, The HCA Foundation, National Frist Humanitarian Awards and many others.
