Furthermore, Ohio Licensed Practical Nurses must rely on the corresponding documentation, which has to receive approval from a recognized body of knowledge in relation to the delivered care.  Besides, these professionals must be aware of the fact that the nursing care does not implicate other actions for which there is a rule that bans them.  Likewise, Licensed Practical Nurses have to accurately execute any order for a patient with the exception of the fact that the Licensed Practical Nurse considers this direction to be not authorized, harmful, inaccurate, not valid, not current or contraindicated.

Also, in Ohio, Licensed Practical Nurses must also clarify and explain every single order or direction that he or she believes to be of one of the qualities mentioned previously.  With this purpose, the Licensed Practical Nurse is forced not only to discuss the taken decision with a licensed practitioner, but also to notify the decision of not following the direction.  Moreover, confidentiality of the entire patient?s information is an issue in spite of the fact that the Licensed Practical Nurse has to communicate the pertinent information of the client with other colleagues as long as it be done with health purposes only.  Thus, these are some of the most outstanding standards that Licensed Practical Nurses have to deal with since they provide such a basic and essential function.
