Michael Carry dreamed to establish a place where patients of dementia and Alzheimer's disease would get the proper cares, which finally came true in 1996 when he opened a Somerford Place in Fresno. The teamwork of Lewis Price and other professionals who were specially committed to developing Alzheimer's assisted living residences but focused on only the Mid-Atlantic region. Both elements came together in 1999 when both groups joined forces and formed the private company Somerford Corp.
Today, Somerford Corp. is the owner and manager of assisted living residences in New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and California. The approach: to promote independence through a deep understanding of the individual needs and preferences of each resident. In this very particular case, they focused on assisting people who suffer from Alzheimer's disease, dementia or other memory-loss related problems. For this matter, they count on a staff that is fully prepared to attend cases like these with accuracy and a smile on their face. In fact, all the members of Somerford Corp. have to complete a training program and monthly education sessions.
