Abington Memorial Hospital has over 34 thousand inpatient admissions each year; it is an important regional referral center for cardiac care, cancer care, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, among other types of surgeries. In addition, the Abington Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in Montgomery County with a level two trauma center, many mothers prefer Abington Memorial Hospital for their maternity care than any other place in eastern Pennsylvania, and it is a leader institution in senior health services. In order to provide inpatient pediatric services, the hospital is affiliated with The Children's Hospital of Philadephia.
