Monroe County Hospital was established in 1962 with 35 employees. Currently, it is managed by Quorum Health resources and provides a high-quality care service. It includes a 94-bed facility, more than 30 departments and over 300 certificated medical staff. It offers services to support people in the comfort of their own homes. Its staff is certificated and specialized to satisfy all the individual needs of its patients. Those services are high skilled Nurse which gives treatments and procedures requiring specialized skills, evaluates vital signs and observes symptoms, gives medication teaching, educates patients and family members regarding care at home, gives wound care, manages diabetes, and administers Intermittent IV Therapy and Intermittent Chemotherapy at home; physical therapy, evaluates and develops healing exercise, walk, transfers prosthetic care and muscle reeducation; Home Health Aide, assists the patient with personal care, observes and reports any changes in patient condition, prepares any meal and lights housekeeping.
Monroe County Hospital has a rural health clinic that provides flexible medical appointments, Medicaid EPSDT screenings, ADPH Breast and Cervical tests, Headstart children's physicals, blood pressure and blood glucose tests and insurance filing for Blue Cross, Medicare, Medicaid and other mayor insurances. It also has a foundation, Monroe Health Foundation, which supports the hospital by looking for and receiving donations from all the community.
