Lanier Health Services began its service to the Chattahoochee Valley in 1950, when it received its first patient. It was the first nationwide hospital that received federal contribution under Hill Burton Program. Its construction was done by the contributions of many people and organizations. Lanier Health Hospital began with 87 well accurate beds and introduced the Nursing Home with 103 beds which provides full care to the elder citizens of its community.
Lanier Health Services is increasing its services and physical plant to offer a comfortable, modern environment suite and others care services. In 1995, Lanier Health Services added the Emergency Department, which offers a state of the art facility and services. A year later, it completed the construction of the two story comprehensive outpatient diagnostic center, managed by Batson-Cook.
Lanier Health Services mission is to be the first choice of health care provider, and to increase the quality of its community member's life by great health programs and services. As a result, it provides a high skilled nursing which develops plans of care, teaches and shows care routines, performs medical procedures and evaluates the patients situation; certified home health aides, give an extended service supported by personal care, ambulation and many every-day-living activities; physical therapy, teaches about home therapy and evaluates the patient status; medical social services, support patients to manage the medical, emotional and social problems related to their illness; and occupational therapy, help patients get to their maximum capability to do their individual tasks.
Lanier Health also gives service known as "Assisted Living" that allows its residents to meet all their needs like bathing, grooming and taking daily. It provides all these services to city of Valley and city of Lanett, Alabama, city of West Point, Georgia, Chambers County Census, Chambers County Schools, Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Development Authority.
